 The business challenge
A leading European financial services company had a critical need to get their staff in Asia behind an exciting new strategic plan that was meant to transform their entire business in the region. Senior management wanted to ensure that the strategy resonated with the staff and they felt a sense of ownership for the new direction. They realized that communicating the strategy was absolutely vital to its successful acceptance and implementation. The company turned to IWNC to facilitate the process and ensure its success.
How IWNC helpedIWNC started the process by organizing and facilitating the strategy launch to 80 senior regional executives. It was important that the company executives themselves take the lead and be seen as driving the process. Thus, IWNC consultants assisted the managers with presentations and delivery methods; plus, IWNC consultants identified, recommended and facilitated activities that complement and reinforced the delivery of the strategy.
IWNC provided infrastructure, know-how and support in rolling out the strategy across the region. In addition, IWNC created templates and materials for cascading the strategy to all staff in the region. IWNC consultants supplemented the materials with training for managers in facilitation and consulting. In some countries, local management communicated the strategy themselves to staff. In other countries, such as China, IWNC consultants facilitated discussion of the new strategy with staff in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. In this manner, the strategy was aligned across the region and delivered in a consistent, articulate and transparent manner.
The resultAs a result of the program, staff enthusiastically embraced the new strategy. Furthermore, the company’s leadership and staff all had a clear understanding of how the strategy related to their own responsibilities and what they personally needed to do to ensure the new strategy’s success.
